What is Lock Washer?

The locking washers can be made of metal or non-metal materials. The purpose in using them is to keep nuts and bolts from vibrating or friction loose. They are many different shapes and sizes, but they all try to achieve the same goal. When properly applied, lock washers provide a shabby, basic way to keep threaded fasteners steady over a long period of time.

They have a seal on the bottom of the washer that seals the surface of the washer face, and a seal at the top that encases the shank and under the head of the fastener making a complete seal from top to bottom.

 

  1. Internal Tooth – Internal tooth have teeth on the inner dimension of the washer and the outside of the washer is smooth. They are made for fasteners who have a smaller head. When the head is fastened into the hole the internal teeth will help grab the surface, while at the same time resisting against the force of the washer being compressed.

 

  1. External Tooth – External tooth have teeth on the outer dimension of the washer so that they can actually bite into the surface that it is put on, and the inside is still a cylindrical hole. They are designed for fasteners who have a bigger head. When the head is fastened into the hole the external teeth will help grab the surface, while at the same time resisting against the force of the washer being compressed.

 

  1. Flat – Flat washers are used for basic applications, where the hole is cot directly in the center of the washer. Standard or metric, it does not matter they can accommodate all shapes and sizes.

 

  1. Flat Retaining – These have multiple holes in them so that you can screw or bolt down the washer, and the second hole would be for running your wire to the screw or bolt.

Some people choose to make plain survival bracelets with nothing more than a knot and loop fastener. For the ultra-crafty people or those wanting to do something different, you can weave beads or other toggles on one end of the bracelet and then a simple loop on the other. Plastic Side Release Buckles Are Very Popular and They Come in So Many Different Sizes and Designs

 

For many people plastic side release buckles are their first choice because they are very affordable, and if you’re making bracelets and other projects as a hobby, well, you probably don’t want to spend a fortune on buckles. Also, if you’re making bracelets for a fund raiser or to re-sell then you want to maximize your profit, so again, plastic buckles would be the obvious choice.

 

The most common size of buckle used for paracord bracelets is 16 – 19 mm (5/8 or 3/4 inch). This measurement is the width of the hole in the buckle through which you place your strap or paracord. Because these plastic buckles are so affordable, you can get a few different sizes and experiment to find out which size, and which type of buckle you like best. While all of those mentioned in this section are side release, they don’t all have the same look and feel—some release easier than others, some are more robust (higher quality plastic), and some buckles are more rounded (contoured) and have a generally better feel while wearing.

 

There are also single adjusting and double adjusting buckles. Double adjusting simply means that there are two slider holes on each end of the buckle. For the most part these whistles work alright, but they aren’t the loudest thing you’ve heard. That being said, for a lost hiker, or a jogger trying to summon help, they will do the job. There are no bells and whistles (literally) on the metal buckles, and your choices are limited to basically the size you want.

What are Forged Pipe Fittings?

Forged Pipe Fittings (Thread Fittings and Socket Weld Fittings) are made in accordance to ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) B16.11, MSS-SP-79\ 83\ 95\97 and BS3799 standards, and are used to connect nominal bore schedule pipes and pipelines. The applications range from chemical, petrochemical, power generation and OEM manufacturing industry as well other applications where vibration, high pressure or extremely corrosive conditions exist.

 

Material:

 

Forged pipe fittings are generally available in two materials: Carbon Steel (ASTM A105 material spec), and Stainless Steel SS316 (ASTM A182 material spec). Pressure Rating and Size Range:

Socket weld connection is significantly more popular than threaded since most applications call for completely sealing off a line and eliminating all possibility of leakage.

 

The fittings are normally produced with the same connection for all sides of the same fitting. That means, a socket weld fitting will have socket weld connection on all sides.
