How to Choose a Right Reverse Osmosis System?

The water filter market is saturated with competition and whichever type of water filter you’re looking to buy, you’ll be met with an abundance of options. It’s difficult to decide on a brand or a filter model, especially if you’re new to the topic of water filtration. Choosing a reverse osmosis water filter is all the more difficult, given that there are systems with different filtration stages, membranes, filtration capacities, etc. To help you get more familiar with your options and understand the differences you may encounter in your search for a reverse osmosis water filter, we offer a quick RO filter buying guide that you can consult while you’re trying to find the best reverse osmosis filter for your home.

Triwin RO System

RO Filter Buying Guide Quick Facts

There are certain questions that you need to address before buying any RO filter for your home, office, restaurant or dental practice:

  • What is my water supply like?
  • What is my water pressure like?
  • How much space do I have?
  • What is my budget?

Water Quality and Pressure

By answering the questions related to the quality of your water, you’ll know what contaminants you need to remove from your tap water, and this will give you further information about how many filtration stages should your RO system have or whether or not you need an alkaline filter too. If your tap water has many types of sediment, it’s chlorinated and acidic, you may want to look into a reverse osmosis filter that is equipped with sediment pre-filters and activated carbon filters that can help reduce sediments and get rid of chlorine from your water supply. This will not only improve the overall quality of your tap water, but it will also make sure your RO membrane will not clog and stay in top shape. If your tap water is acidic in its unfiltered state, you’ll need to invest in a reverse osmosis system that contains a remineralizer filter or alkaline filter as well. RO produces slightly acidic water, so an alkaline filter can replenish your water with trace amounts of healthy minerals that were removed during the filtration process, thus, correcting the pH balance of your RO water.

If your water pressure is not at optimum levels (look for the water pressure requirements of the RO system you’re thinking of buying), you’ll need to invest in a system with a booster pump.

Space and Budget Considerations

The size of an RO filter depends on many factors (how many filters it contains, how big is the RO storage tank, etc.), but you need to make sure you have enough space wherever you’re thinking of installing it.

Another aspect to consider is your budget. There can be very huge price differences between RO systems depending on their intended purpose, filtered water output, complexity, etc. Commercial RO systems can be double or even triple the price of domestic water filters, but they also have an hourly filtered water output that can amount to hundreds of liters of water. You also need to think about maintenance costs, which usually mean the costs of replacing the pre and post-filters and the RO membrane. It’s a good idea to run the numbers and see how much you’ll need to spend annually on filter replacements.

In a nutshell, these are the most important aspects to consider before buying a reverse osmosis filter. Hopefully, we’ve managed to make your search for an RO filter a little less daunting and a little more efficient.

How to Choose a Youth Bow

Archery is a sport for children to learn and enjoy. Even the youngest of children can start off with archery toys, one with safe rubber or suction cup-tipped arrows. By the time young archers reach the age of 8 or so, it is important to select a bow of the right size and type.

Step 1

Determine whether your child is right-eye or left-eye dominant. Have your child stand facing toward a wall that has some kind of feature on it–a clock, a picture, etc. Tell your child to point to the clock, picture, etc., and then close his right eye. If his finger stays in the same place, he is left-eye dominant and you should choose a left-handed bow. If his finger appears to “jump” so it is now pointing somewhere to the right of the object, he is right-eye dominant, and will need a right-handed bow.

Step 2

Measure your child’s entire arm span to help you determine what draw length bow you should purchase. Draw length is the measure of how far the bow can be drawn back. Have her spread her arms out with her palms facing forwards. Run a tape measure from the tip of one middle finger to the other. Once you have this measurement, divide it by 2.5. This should give you the correct draw length for the bow you’ll be purchasing.

Step 3

Select a bow of the proper length for your child. Unlike draw length, this measurement refers to the bow itself, how many inches it measures from top to bottom. Youth bows tend to measure between 31 and 41 inches in length, but you should have your child try out several bows at different lengths to see which one is most comfortable.

Step 4

Estimate the draw weight your child will need in a bow. This refers to the pounds of pressure that will need to be exerted to draw a bow back to its fullest extension. A child weighing between 50 and 70 pounds will usually be able to pull a draw weight of 10 to 15 pounds. For a child weighing 70 to 100 pounds, a draw weight between 15 and 25 pounds would be appropriate, and a draw weight of 25 to 35 or 40 pounds should work for a child weighing between 100 and 130 pounds. Children between 130 and 150 pounds ought to be able to handle draw weights between 40 and 50 pounds.

Step 5

Take into account budgetary considerations. If your child is new to the sport of archery and this is something you’re just trying out to see if he likes it, select one of the lower-priced models. You can usually find some type of beginner bow in the $40 to $50 range. If your child really enjoys archery, however, and wants to get into competition or bow hunting, you may wish to select a model specially made for his needs and interests costing anywhere from $100 to $400 or even more. Be sure to take into account that your child is still growing, though. You may not want to mortgage the house to purchase archery equipment that he is likely to outgrow in a year or so.

How to Choose a Suitable Wetsuit

Unless you are fortunate enough to live in the tropics, you know how important a wetsuit is to your comfort and health when surfing in the chilly waters of the open ocean. There is a wide array of wetsuit types to choose from, as well a range of material thicknesses, allowing you to customize your gear to the water and weather conditions wherever you may be.

Types of Wetsuit

  • FULL SUIT:

This suit envelops your entire body, usually with long sleeves (some have short sleeves) and full leg coverage.

  • SPRING SUIT / SHORTY:

With legs that cut off a few inches below the knee, and either short or long-sleeved arms, this suit is designed for warmer conditions and is usually made of a thinner material.

  • FARMER JOHNS:

The overall of the surfing world, this suit is sleeveless with long legs, designed for use with a rash guard on days when the outside air is warm.

  • SHORT JOHNS:

This suit is a shorter version of the Farmer John, with the same sleeveless construction but the cooler feel of cut-off legs.

  • MIX-AND-MATCH PIECES:

Neoprene vests, jackets and shorts, all made with the same construction as a typical wetsuit, fall into this category. These pieces allow customization based on the weather and temperature, both in and out of the water.

Wetsuit Materials

  • NEOPRENE

The idea behind a wetsuit is to permit a small about of water to seep into the suit initially, which, once heated by your body, forms an insulating layer of warmth. Foam neoprene, treated with water-repellant chemicals, prevents the cold ocean water from continuing to wash in and disturb the temperature within the suit.

The thickness of the suit determines how warm the surfer will remain after time spent submerged in the frigid water; the fatter the material, the warmer he’ll be. Neoprene panels come in several thicknesses: usually between 1-6 millimeters. Depending on the water temp, neoprene wetsuits are usually pieced together using different thicknesses of neoprene, heavier on the chest and back areas, and thinner on the arms, legs and shoulders. This multi-thickness construction leads to nominal classifications such as 3/2mm (3mm on the core and 2mm on the extremities, in this case).

  • BACKING MATERIALS

Because of neoprene’s rigid and grippy nature, it can be really tough to yank on a wetsuit and pull it up into place. Luckily, suit manufacturers figured out a way to lessen the resistance formed between the wetsuit and the rider’s skin. Smooth skin nylon facing is attached to the inside of the wetsuit, making getting in and out much easier, as well as providing added warmth to the surfer. Sometimes, the material is attached to both the inside and outside of the suit – a material construction known as Nylon 2 – which increases warmth, but also makes the suit more bulky. Smooth skin was a needed advance in wetsuit construction; however the added bulk coupled with a decreased durability in nylon-backed suits are the unfortunate side effects of such a progression. Manufacturers have now begun using lycra, spandex and even wool blends as a replacement for raw nylon backing, leading to wetsuits with much more flex and stretch, and a more streamlined fit.

Fit of Wetsuit

The fit of a wetsuit is not only important for comfort’s sake but also to ensure that the suit is properly insulating the wearer. Basically, the pocket of extra space between the suit and the surfer’s skin is designed to trap and heat a layer of ocean water to provide a cocoon of warmth. If a wetsuit is too baggy, the water won’t heat up enough; if it’s too tight, there won’t be enough water to heat. Either way, a proper fit is the only way to get the most out of a wetsuit.

The way that the neoprene material flexes and moves is also a significant aspect of a suit’s fit. To surf in comfort, you need to have a wide range of motion through the shoulders and knees to help you paddle and pop up with fluid motions.

Automatic Soap Dispenser Buyer’s Guide

Automatic Soap Dispensers

Automatic soap dispensers are great. They improve hygiene, efficiency, and simply put are just more pleasurable to use and maintain than grimy bars of soap and constantly emptying manual soap pumps. However, not all automatic soap dispensers are created equal. There are things to know and avoid. Luckily for you, we have done all the research for you and put together a guide with our top tips and advice for prospective buyers looking to get the most out of their dispenser.

How to avoid a malfunctioning sensor

The best way to avoid a malfunctioning sensor is to make sure you buy a proper one. Double check reviews and make sure your dispenser has a good record. That being said, if your automatic soap dispenser is ever being a little too automatic and dispensing soap when no one is in the room or whenever someone simply walks by it doesn’t mean you have to throw it away. Try cleaning the sensor, changing the batteries, removing objects placed in front of it (especially ones that move!), and lastly, if all else fails don’t forget about using your warranty, most dispensers come with a long-time warranty that will replace your unit for free.

Know your soap

Not all soap dispensers handle soap the same. Some only work with foam soaps. Some only work with their expensive special name-brand soap. Others are will work with anything including shampoo, conditioner, car washing soap, and just about any other liquid. However, if you are ever hesitant about what your dispenser can handle and want to be on the safe side or restore a jammed dispenser we recommend switching to a thin soap that flows easily through any dispenser.

A clean and dry dispenser is a long-lasting dispenser

While we made sure the automatic soap dispensers listed here are all high quality, some are more-so than others and even the most formidable dispensers should be cared for properly if you want to get the most out of them. Not only should you always check to make sure your dispenser is never leaking (internally or externally, the last thing you want is a battery compartment full of soap!) Make sure you setup your dispenser in as dry of an environment as possible. If your dispenser is always sitting in a puddle of water you are asking for battery trouble and malfunctions.

Take advantage of every feature

Last but definitely not least, make sure you know every feature of whatever dispenser you choose and use it to its fullest potential. Many dispensers here are feature-rich and include things like an on/off button, adjustable soap amount dispensed and more. These features will help reduce waste and make both cleaning and maintaining a long-lasting dispenser significantly easier!

The Process of Getting Started With Your Archery Bow

If you are thinking about getting involved in archery, but you are not sure what you need, then you are in luck. One thing that I like about this sport is that there are only a few things that you need to get off and running. Obviously, the first thing that you would need to buy is one of the many archery bows that are on the market today. Next, you will need to get arrows to shoot. To make your life a bit easier, there are also some accessories that I would recommend.

When you first start you will need to make the decision on which of the many archery bows you would like to shoot. There are compounds, recurves, takedown bows, longbows, etc. out there so it is best that you do a bit of research on them before you commit buying your bow of choice. They all have their own unique set of attributes that are made to fit archers of all varieties. Once you figure out what type of shooting you want to do, then you need to figure out how much you are willing to spend. This will help you narrow down your focus and hone in on a decision.

You now need to get yourself something to shoot. The most popular arrows that you will find out there are wood, aluminum and carbon. I have personally transitioned from using the wood arrows in my childhood, to aluminum in my teens, and now the only thing that I use is carbon. Everything matters when you are shooting your archery bow, so you need to make sure that the arrows are consistent. Carbon is extremely consistent, but they will be the most expensive. Aluminum is a good starter arrow because they are relatively inexpensive, and are more consistent than wood. I would suggest staying away from wood arrows until you have developed an eye for purchasing arrows because it is much harder to find a quality wood version.

I would also suggest that you get an archery arm glove or an archery bow release-depending on the type of bow that you purchased. When I began shooting, I mainly liked to use recurve bows. When you start to move up in weight, your fingers get sore after 40-50 shots due to finger pinch — unless you are using a glove. Once I moved up to a compound bow, I knew that there would be no way that I would be able to draw a 55-70 pound compound bow with my fingers so I opted to use an archery bow release.

If you are anything like me, then you will probably also want to get an archery target so that you do not have to drive to your local archery range every time that you want to shoot. I purchased a Bulldog archery target as they offer a lifetime guarantee. This means that I can shoot off a couple of dozen arrows when I feel that I need a little bit extra practice. Again, the archery target is not a necessity like the arrows, and the archery bows are, but having one never hurts so that you can get as much practice as possible out of it.

Once you have your bow, arrows, target and accessories you can start the fun part. Shooting an archery bow is the next journey that you will embark on. Getting the equipment was the easiest part, now it is time to perfect your form. It is good to read up on tips and tricks when shooting your archery bow, but shooting is the best.

An Exciting Array of Water Dispensers to Choose From

Modern living has become highly sophisticated and a lot of pressing concerns can cause elevated stress and physical breakdown. Good thing water dispensers came into the consumer world to help alleviate the high demands on time and energy.

A wide array of under sink water chiller and hot water dispenser brands is available and each comes with a price tag that suits every budget. Exciting designs and features will surely dazzle even the most meticulous customer.

The following sections discuss two types of water dispensing machines that are great value for money. The first one is able to provide sparklingly chilled water as really delightful refreshment. The second one produces boiling hot water needed to make coffee, tea and other hot drinks.

Under Sink Water Chillers

These water dispensing machines eliminate the cost and hassle of spending precious time going to the supermarket whenever bottled water has run out. They are equipped with a technologically advanced in line filtration system that can adequately provide a consistent source of chilled and filtered water. The water tastes absolutely great and it does not have the odors oftentimes associated with a mains water supply.

The under sink or under counter water chillers are cost effective as well as environmentally friendly. They are directly connected to the mains water supply and the water passes through the in line filtration system. Organic chemicals and undesirable tastes and odors are effectively removed. The filtration process then yields crystal clear and fresh tasting water that is dispensed via the available tap of the machine.

There are other essential features that every consumer must watch out for. It is best that the dispensers are built of stainless steel for durability while the coating is ideally of scratch and impact resistant plastic.

The refrigeration system must be efficient and silent if possible. With a static condenser, the operation will be incredibly great, providing considerable energy savings.

The sealed ice bank of the cooling system must be ensured at all times. Doing so will retain the hygienic levels of the dispensed water. There will then be a continual supply of ice cold water that is free from bacteria obtained from external sources. Also, the need for regular sanitization is reduced.

The maintenance of the units is very easy and economical for the filter change and sanitization are done once every 6 months. The product supplier has replacement filters and sanitization kits readily available to prevent any hitch in the use of the machine.

The most important thing to consider is that the dispensers bear the CE mark to ascertain that they have passed the European standards for product safety and usability.

Hot Water Dispensers

These appliances dispense water at near boiling point or at about 94 degrees Centigrade. They are commonly known as boiling water taps. They are available in two models such as hot only, and hot and cold water types. They are kettle like product items that boil and dispense single mugful of water.

They normally have variable settings in the quantity of water being dispensed. A few seconds is all it takes to dispense water via the hot water dispensers. This means potential energy saving benefits can be acquired because only the necessary amount of water is boiled.

The other types of hot water dispensing machines include boil on demand heaters, tank dispensers and thermo pot water dispensers. The boil on demand types of heaters is small, portable and cheap. It does not need installation and is an energy saver.

The hot water tank type of dispensers needs to be plumbed directly to the water supply. The water is then heated and dispensed via the faucet. It has a built in filter and thermostat.

The thermo pot type of hot water dispensers combines the features of an electric kettle and a hot water flask. It is potable and requires no installation.

Water dispensers have innovative designs and awesome features to choose from. Remarkably, they possess both beauty and functionally that make modern life less stressful.

There is a choice between countertop and under sink water chiller models, depending on individual preferences. Also, various hot water dispenser brands are also being offered and they serve as great alternatives for the traditional way of boiling water using a kettle.

Water Filtration System – The Solution to Have Clean Drinking Water

The quest for clean water started as far back as the 15th century BCE when excavations of the tomb of Amenophis II of the ancient Egyptian kingdom of Thebes showed a wall with an inscription depicting a water clarifying device. The quest for the most suitable and best water filtration system produced various theories, methods and apparatus from great minds of the past like the Sushruta Samhita Sanskrit filtration process using a stone called “Gomedaka” and the Ousruta Samhita charcoal filtering, Hippocratic sleeve by Hippocrates and the multiple sand filtration process first brought up by the Italian physician Lucas Antonius Portius in his book “Soldier’s Vade Mecum”. Up until the turn of the 19th century, sand filters were widely used in the American frontiers until the Federal government standardized the water treatment industry in the 70’s.

Water is a life-giving element. The use of clean drinking water is essential for our survival and guarantees us safety from waterborne diseases. But choosing the best water filtration system is unlike getting into a store and just picking up anything that fancies you. Extreme care should be followed to ensure that your system will work not only for you but for the water that you will be using. Water should be analyzed to determine the kind of contaminants it has as this will determine the system that will work best to ensure the quality of water that will suit your need.

Aside from coliform bacteria, metals and minerals such as iron, manganese, calcium and magnesium. The water from your source can be examined by the local government agency tasked to monitor problems of this kind. After you have determined the kind of contaminants that are present in your water, the next thing to consider is the system that is suitable for the water to be filtered. Below are the things to consider on how to pick for the best water filtration system:

  1. Oxidation

This system uses chlorine or potassium permanganate to change iron and manganese to an insoluble form which is then filtered by means of a special filter media bed. Maintenance requires backwashing the filter bed and changing the agent on a regular basis. This is suitable for treating water for a whole house because of its large size.

  1. Distillation

This system requires boiling the water and then collecting the condensed water vapor. The product is by far the safest since all contaminants are left behind in the boiling process thereby making the collected water pure and totally free of any dirt and bacteria. However, this method can be hard on the budget because of the cost of energy.

  1. Filters

This one of the most common system and has varying types of capabilities depending on the configuration. This is usually attached to a faucet and may be connected directly to the plumbing system. This can reduce a significant number of contaminants such as chlorine byproducts and other forms of parasites.

  1. Reverse Osmosis

Reverse osmosis water filtration system uses a semi-permeable membrane where water is forced through it by extreme pressure. The water produced through this method reduces greatly the presence of heavy metals, minerals and bacteria. A reverse osmosis water filtration system commonly undergoes 5 stages passing through several filters (sediment and carbon) and an ultra-violet lamp that microbes that may have escaped the RO filters.

These technologies offer varying degrees of results but generally are safe for human consumption. We have to choose the best water filtration system that not only meets the requirement of the water source but also the need of your household. You may want a system that will supply you with clean, filtered water for all your needs or you may want a system just for your drinking and cooking need. Cost is also a consideration which needs to be weighed. You should get a system that meets your budget. Some of these technologies are somewhat elaborate so the cost of acquiring it may also be great. Having all these in mind, there is no reason why you cannot choose the best water filtration system you like.

The water may look clean and pure, but remember that pathogens, bacteria and viruses are invisible to the naked eye. Get the best water filtration system and protect yourself and your family from harmful microorganisms that may cause illnesses and infections. On the website of TRIWIN water filter manufacturer, there are different filtration systems to choose from depending on your need such as big blue filtration system and reverse osmosis system. The Benefits of a POU Water Dispenser

A POU water dispenser stands for Point of Use water cooler. This is a kind of water dispenser where the filtration method to make the water clean happens right where the consumption happens.

This opposed to putting up a filtration system that is centralized throughout the entire house. There are many kinds of filtration methods that are used for point of use coolers, such as boiling, ceramic pot filtration, chlorination, cloth filtration, natural or chemical coagulation, pasteurization, sand filtration, and even solar disinfection. There are many benefits to having this kind of filtration system as opposed to the conventional centralized kind.

First of all, a POU water dispenser will definitely be cheaper than having a centralized system put in. That is because you do not have to have construction done on the inner workings of your house. Also, you can just buy one water cooler for an entire house, especially when you do not need that many because there are only a few of you living in the house or because you live alone.

Aside from having a lower price, a POU water dispenser is great for underdeveloped countries that do not have drinkable tap water. As a matter of fact, plenty of charitable foundations have begun making it a point to try and provide these kinds of water dispensers for places that do not have clean drinking water. These kinds of water coolers have the capability to turn ordinary and non-potable water into clean and filtered drinking water. As for people who can afford it, they still have to go through the hassle of getting water bottles delivered to their homes because their tap water is not clean. A POU water dispenser would be able to get rid of that spending once and for all. And not only that, but you also save yourself the trouble.

And last but not the least, you definitely need to get a POU water dispenser because of all the hassle that it saves you. No longer will you have to deal with instances like running out of water at the most inconvenient times because you did not realize that you were out of water, and you also do not have to deal with deliveries that take forever. While it may not sound like much, this can definitely be a big hassle when the time comes that it does happen to you.

When you finally do decide to buy POU water dispensers, there are a few things keep in mind. Make sure that you pick the right size for the space that you have. While a bigger cooler will definitely be able to filter more water at one time, you do not always necessarily need this kind of filtration power. If you do not have enough space or if there isn’t that many people who will be using this filter, opt for a smaller model. This will save you money.

Make sure to buy those that come with the proper filtration method that you want. There are many different kinds of methods, but only one will truly suit you. Figure out what this is and make sure to buy a water cooler with that method.
