All about Pantyhose

Pantyhose (also known as tights) are sheer close fitting coverings of the body from the waist to the feet, most frequently worn by women. Like stockings they are usually made of nylon. The one-piece pantyhose garment appeared in the 1960s and provided a convenient alternative to stockings (nylons).

The term ‘pantyhose’ originated in the United States, referring to the combination of ‘panties’ (an American term for women’s underpants) with sheer nylon hosiery. In the United Kingdom, they are called tights, a term that refers to all such garments regardless of denier. In the U.S., the term tights is used for non-sheer garments similar to pantyhose, such as those worn by girls, dancers and athletes.

Pantyhose are worn for a number of reasons. Sheer pantyhose that match the skin color of the legs can enhance the appearance of legs, making them look smoother. Darker pantyhose can enhance the legs by outlining the shape and by making the legs seem slimmer. Brown colored pantyhose give the illusion of tanned legs; an ‘instant tan’. Pantyhose also has a practical use, as it can provide warmth in colder weather and let one appear “bare-legged” even in the winter. Pantyhose that are knitted with lycra enhance blood circulation by applying even pressure on the legs throughout the day.

Pantyhose are currently a standard sight in offices worldwide, where they have been accepted as part of a professional dress code for women. Though a barelegged trend is now popular amongst younger women, hosiery is still common in offices and places where formal dress is required. Schools with uniforms often require some sort of hosiery as a part of the uniform (usually pantyhose or tights).

Most pantyhose are composed of nylon and a small amount of spandex, which provides the elasticity and form fitting that is characteristic of modern pantyhose. Unfortunately, the nylon fabric is somewhat prone to tearing and it is common for very sheer hose to ‘run’ soon after snagging on something rough or sharp.

Pantyhose worn for fashion have a standard construction. The top of the waist is a strong elastic. The part covering the hips (panty area) is composed of a thicker material than the legs. The gusset or crotch is also a stronger material, sometimes made of cotton. The legs of the pantyhose are made of the thinnest material which has a consistent construction down to the toes, which may be reinforced to guard against wear. However, a constant complaint of pantyhose is that they “run” or tear frequently, which ensures that wearers must constantly purchase new pairs.

Pantyhose are available in a wide range of styles. The sheerness of the garment, expressed as a numerical ‘denier’/’dtex’, ranges from 3 (extremely rare, very thin, barely visible) to 20 (standard sheer) up to 30 (semi opaque).

Pantyhose are sold in a variety of colors and textures (patterns). In business wear, the texture is usually neutral and the most common shades are beige, gray, white, and blacks, while fashion styles popular among younger women include a wide range of colors and textures.

Pantyhose are considered a part of the lingerie wardrobe, and thus a turn-on for many men when they see them on the wearer. Styles which are shiny, silky, and sheer-to-waist are attractive to many men their alluring qualities even triggering pseudo-transvestic feelings about this most feminine item of women’s clothing.

All about Piston Pumps and Their Beneficial Operations

Piston pumps are there almost everywhere in our lives. But, it’s just that we are not aware of their existence or their usefulness. The axial one are used almost everywhere but they are most useful in the aerospace industry.

Well, before talking about this and its use in the various industry sectors, let us know a few basic things about them. These are nothing but positive displacement pumps that have a number of cylinders arranged in a circular pattern within a cylinder block. This block known as a rotor or a barrel, this is a key component in their assembly. The size and surface texture of this cylinder bores is critical to proper performance and life of the assembly.

This comes in many varieties that include axial radial inline form, radial-piston form, and also in plunger. They also differ based on the type of component they are used like bronze, brass, steel, stainless steel, iron, nickel alloy, or other material.

These pumps are used in lower pressure applications, unlike plunger pumps which are high pressure pumps. Indeed, this provides an excellent solution for many hydraulic oil pumping applications. However, the pumps used in these operations have iron cylinder and piston with a steel piston rod.

Whatever model of piston pumps or pressure washer pumps you intend to buy, always go for manufacturers whose products are acknowledged for high functionality, low power consumption and excellent durability. They should also come with rounded construction that has no drum-type surfaces to amplify noise.

Also, as in a centrifugal pump where restriction or increased head creates reduced flow, a piston pump has a very flat flow performance curve. This may result in blockages, which is very hazardous. Hence, use only piston pumps that have safety devices such as unloaded valves.

A.R. North America provides many industrial products with best quality like piston pumps, plunger pumps, car wash pumps.

No Mess Cosmetic Packaging

When we buy cosmetics, we seldom give thought to the cosmetics packaging; we simply buy one we like and throw it in our cosmetic bag when we get home. This habit tends to lead to frantic searches when we decide we need a particular item. With a little slower response when choosing our favorite cosmetic, we can alleviate the problem by choosing one by reaching for the one that is designed in its own separate carrying case. This type of cosmetic packing removes the mess of cluttered cosmetic bags and prevents damage to the contents.

Many of these cosmetic packagings come in small tins where the cosmetics are already layered for easy use. You can find the eye shadow, blush, powder, and lipstick or lip gloss right there in one hand by flipping the little tins around or opening up a lid over a shared compartment. These handy cosmetic packaging can be tossed into your purse, and be ready when you need them. They snap tightly shut so there is no spilling down into your purse and all over the other items.

These cosmetic packaging with different cosmetics in one container generally do not cost much more than the price of purchasing them separately; in fact you can generally save money, because you will not be losing them, or spilling them. The amount of time saved from not having to constantly root around looking for each one is also a wonderful advantage.

These cosmetic packaging are also great when travelling, one less item to carry or worry about leaving behind or misplacing in a hotel room. They slip easily into a purse or side pocket of a handbag, or suitcase. For that exciting weekend away it is so bothersome to put on your evening clothes to only discover you have left the cosmetic bag at home. Now the easy storage of these cosmetic packaging can be appreciated when you reach into your purse and find just what you needed right there at hand. The tight fitting closures of these cosmetic packaging also keeps the contents in a fresher state and extends the life of the product.

They are easy to find at your local retailer. They are kept on the shelf with all the other cosmetics, and are advertised as being convenient cosmetic packaging. You can also buy on-line for easy shopping. Cosmetic packaging often come in sets for different skin tones, and complimenting color schemes that allow the wearer to have that polished, finished look like the one a professional makeover would provide. Keep these handy cosmetic packaging in mind, the next time you are shopping for new cosmetics.

About Spiral Bevel Gears and Its Comparison with Hypoid Gears

Spiral bevel gears are gears with helical teeth. These gears are used in the differential of a vehicle where the drive’s direction must be turned at an angle of 90 degrees from the drive shaft to drive the wheels. The helical design facilitates less vibration and noise in comparison to the traditional spur-cut gears with straight teeth.

As the Spiral bevel gears are lapped and manufactured in pairs, it is advised that one should replace them in pairs, i.e., both the left hand and the right hand gear should be replaced together when either gets damaged.

A right hand gear is the one in which the external half of a tooth is inclined from the axial plane via the midpoint of the tooth in the clockwise direction. This is based on the observation of a person who looked at the gear’s face. On the other hand, the left hand gear is one whose tooth’s outer half is inclined in the anticlockwise direction from the axial plane and through a tooth’s midpoint. However, it is to be noted that both the right and left hand designations are applied similarly to other types of gears such as the hypoid, oblique tooth face, and many other.

Hypoid is a kind of gear whose axis does not intersect with the meshing gear’s axis. The shape of a hyploid is a revolved hyperboloid, while the spiral bevel are conical. A hypoid places the pinion off-axis to the ring gear. This allows the pinion to be larger in diameter, thus having more contact area.

The pinion and gear are always of opposite hand in a hypoid gear. It incorporates some sliding and can be considered as the midway between a worm and straight-cut gear. A hypoid gear requires special oils to ensure smooth sliding action under extreme conditions between the teeth.

Comparison between Spiral Bevel and Hypoid Gears

Although hypoid gears operate more quietly, they also have some sliding action which reduces their mechanical efficiency. Earlier, hypoid were used in rear-drive automobile drivetrains, but their modern designs have made them a neat substitute of the spiral bevel.

A hypoid is still common in trucks due to the capability of trucks in transmitting higher torque. However, one cannot replace hypoid with the spiral bevel gear in automotive because the latter requires a much larger diameter in comparison to the former one to transmit the requisite torque.

Prakash Gears is a leading manufacturer of different types of robust gears in all of India.

What to Look For When Buying an Electric Hand Dryer

Are you in the market for excellent, high-quality electric hand dryers? Perhaps you’re setting up small service business, such as a café or restaurant. Or perhaps you simply want the convenience of having dryers in your home due to the saving they’ll represent in terms of paper. Whichever the case, what you’re probably going to need will be reliable, reasonably priced electric hand dryers which excel in giving you more bang for your buck.

Automatic dryers have become increasingly popular over the years. Not only are they convenient and eco-friendly – they’re also low maintenance. In addition to this, zero waste is generated by the use of an automatic hand dryer because air is used to dry the hands instead of paper towels, one ton of which is equivalent to about seventeen trees. When purchasing an electric hand dryer, the average service business will be saving in the area of twenty-four trees a year. Imagine the relief that the world would feel if we’d all just stop using paper towels for the simple task of drying our hands.

The fact of the matter is that electric hand dryers are an excellent investment not only in terms of the financial saving they’ll bring you (given that you’ll no longer require paper), but also because they save you a bundle in terms of labor costs. It might not seem immediately evident, but the cost of labor in manufacturing, buying, replenishing, and finally disposing of paper towels is ninety percent more than the cost of labor incurred by the use of an automatic dryer over the same period of time. Electric hand dryers, once installed, do not need to be replaced or constantly maintained the way a paper towel dispenser does. Nor is there any need to dispose of waste the way there is with sanitary hand towel dispenser, which call for employees to empty them out on a daily basis.

Furthermore, manufacturers of these hand dryers are now coming up with ever more inventive ways to make their products leave even less of an ecological footprint.

Finally, a recent breakthrough called Steritouch surface hygiene, also developed by the World Dryer Corporation, has finally succeed in addressing the problem of bacterial growth. Steritouch is an antibacterial and antifungal additive which can decrease the number of bacteria that can grow and propagate in electric hand dryers, including the much feared methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (or MRSA). By having gusts of this product regularly released into the filters of dryers, infection by way of this sort of bacteria is now far more readily prevented.

So, it seems, that for those debating the benefits of buying paper roll dispensers or electric hand dryers for their homes or businesses, that the writing is well and truly on the wall. Not only will choosing to install an electric hand dryer be the best you can do for old mother nature. it will also save you a bundle by way of energy and labor costs.

5 Easy Steps to Installing a Pressure Tank

If you live in a regular suburban-style home or are thinking of moving into one, one of the things you might have to consider getting initially for your home is a pressure tank. It is a device that uses compressed air to push water from a water source upward. In homes that have two or more stories, they are needed to push water from a ground water source to the plumbing fixtures above. Without it, you won’t be able to use water in the upstairs part of your home, especially if the ground water source doesn’t have a very strong force.

Getting a pressure tank is easy but requires a bit of research as you need to know what type is appropriate for your home. You can consult with a professional when in doubt, but the process is fairly straightforward so long as you read the manufacturer’s instructions thoroughly. It helps to be friendly with hardware store owners that sell tanks because they can give you helpful tips on how to install it yourself.

Choose the right kind. There are various sizes. The larger ones may be more expensive, but they can hold more water so the pump switch will be turned on less, extending it’s life. There are several types available. You can get a galvanized (which is one of the oldest types), a pre-charged, an air pressure tank, and a sealed diaphragm. Do your research to check which is best for your home-try consulting with a plumber if you’re not sure.

Prepare. Pumps use electricity to be able to function properly. Be sure that you have completed the electrical connections that you need. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for any valves that need to be installed. Certain kinds of valves need to be installed in the pump in order to allow it to re-pressurize automatically.

Check your water source. Pressure tanks need a water source from a discharge pipe, to be fitted with a gate valve according your manufacturer’s instructions. Be sure the water is clear and free of any sediments or debris. If not, let it run until it is clear.

Install the pressure tank. You will need an air volume control on it to monitor the amount of compressed air pushing the water into the pipes; it needs to be just the right amount. Place your pressure tank on a raised platform, to allow water to drain out when necessary. Concrete blocks would be good for this. Once that’s done, connect the pump to the water pipes. Test it out and allow the pressure tank to fill up until the pump automatically shuts off. Do this a few times to be sure that it works properly.

Install any water filters or water softener systems, if necessary. You’re done! Be sure to periodically check on your pressure tank to make sure that it is working at optimum conditions.

A pressure tank might just save you a lot of time!

How Manufacturers Do Aluminum Extrusion?

The process of aluminum extrusion is simple and easy however it is very significant to know why extrusion is so important. In general metals like steel and aluminum is put to use in several industries, right from automobile, to telecommunication, transport, utensil manufacturing and at times even in the toy industry. Thus, both of these metals are in huge demand and find place is almost all the major manufacturing industries in the world.

Just after steel, aluminum is the other metal which is hugely popular all over the world. This can put in a manner stating that aluminum is the second most popular metal in the globe after steel. The former is widely available, has impressive properties, and is affordable, light weight, can withstand high temperatures and so on. And above all the aluminum extrusions involved in getting different shapes and forms for suppliers is cost-effective and simple. Both in US and Europe building industry and the telecom as well is highly dependent on aluminum extruded products. These products find a number of usages and are used in many applications.

So, what is aluminum extrusion? This is a process through which aluminum is given certain shapes and forms. It starts with the hot cylindrical billet of aluminum which is pushed through a shaped die. The billet is cut from DC cast log and placed in heated container (450°C – 500°C). When pushed through the die the metal flows through the steel die. The die is placed at the other end of the container. Now, once the log passes it produces a section, this can be cut into shapes either in long length or short. The section is cuts according to the customized demands of the clients since the log is meant to be used for any particular industry. In certain extrusion process rectangular shaped billets. In this process only wide section sized extrusions are produced. This again depends according the demands of the supplier.

Aluminum extrusion is done for several kinds of industry and these aluminum extruded products are very commonly used in building industry. In this industry you can use aluminum in prefabricated houses/building structures, window and door frame systems, curtain walling, roofing and exterior cladding, and shop fronts. Besides, they also find place in the telecommunication and transport industry. In transport industry aluminum extruded products are found in rail vehicles, marine applications, airframes and for vehicles on the road.

So, what makes aluminum so popular? It is the versatility and the flexibility of the material that turns in so popular. Since aluminum is high temperature resistance and is corrosion resistant as well it is used to make utensils and is also used on transport vehicles. Besides, it is strong even though it is light weight and thus it is used in airframes.

So, if you are out there still deciding on selecting aluminum extruded products or some other metal you can give your votes to this metal as it is affordable and durable as well. No more second thoughts to this go ahead with aluminum extrusion and the products.

How Does A MIG Welder Work?

The Metal Inert Gas or MIG welder has been developed since the 1940s and has become the choice way to weld. It uses a procedure called gas metal arc welding (GMAW). It is a relatively simple process. It uses a welding gun to control the feeding of a wire, also known as the electrode, and distributes a stream of inert or semi inert gas over the join to protect the process.

These days the most common gas to be used is the semi inert gas known as carbon dioxide as this is check and works effectively on most metals. Gases such as argon is also used when working on metals such as aluminum as it produces fewer splatters, giving a better finish.

The GMAW process has many more benefits compared with other types of processes. One of these advantages is that the gun has a trigger to control the electrode, allowing you to have more control and position the tip without the danger of striking an arc by accident. Once it is in the place you want, all you have to do is flip down your helmet and pull the trigger.

The shielding gases which are either inert (for a better result) or semi inert (cheaper) are used to protect the join and smooth and clean the joins. That way there is no need to clean off any slag. The process also allows work to be performed at reduced amps, so it can be used for thinner metals and sheet metal. A DC current is always used for this as using alternating currents does not provide a steady arc reducing the effectiveness of the job.

It also lets you adjust the amps, the voltage and the wire feed speed allowing you to have total control over the weld result. There is a valve on the handle that can control the flow of gas as well.

If you want you can also use a MIG welder even without the gas to shield the join. The process is called flux cored arc welding (FCAW). This process uses a wire that has a hollow core that is filled with flux to produce a clean join. This allows you to work outdoors as you don’t need the shielding gas. As a result, the flux core wire is hotter and can be used for thicker joins. A resulting problem is that you will need to clean the slag from the join.

MIG welders are used to join tin, zinc, copper, aluminum, tin, brass and steel. There are also a lot of different configurations of MIG welding wires to choose from. It allows you to get the best combination for almost any situation. If you are on a limited budget and only want to purchase one welder and still be able to work on a variety of metals, the MIG welder is seen by many as the best one to go with.

Check out more information on how to use MIG welders. If you are looking at MIG welders for sale check out this advice on features to look for, so you get the right one for your needs.
